Kitchen Remodeling Project Gateway Commons Gorham Maine

This kitchen remodel was unique in that it changed the family’s entire first floor. Initially, the space was outdated, and simply not working for this wonderful family of six. Improved use of space and modernization were the goals, and I would say they were reached!

Our project started the way most remodeling projects start; some hard demolition. Cabinets and trims came out, floors and subfloors torn up, and we began steps toward some structural changes. The living / dining area was divided by a column and half wall. To maximize the open space, this feature had to go, which required the addition of a steel beam under the second floor.

Then came the more glamorous tasks; tiled floors, new stair treads and risers, Cabico custom-built cabinets and granite countertops. This homeowner went with a light & clean modern look for their finishes. From the grout on the floor to the light fixtures, the homeowners were able to select every finish for this custom project.

Here are some of the changes we made.

  • Remodeled the first floor
  • Opened up with  steel beam
  • Tile throughout
  • Granite counter tops
  • Cabico cabinets
